Acts as a liaison between the IT organization and the business community to deliver technical solutions that satisfy user requirements. Analyzes the operations of the business unit(s) to identify opportunities for the automation of processes and functions, as well as to identify their strengths and limitations. Possesses a comprehensive comprehension of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities, in addition to expertise in the business unit(s) supported. By fostering the development of integrated, cost-effective, and customer-oriented business solutions, the organization is improved.
Responsibilities
- Actively engages in the assessment of systems to guarantee that they are consistent throughout the health system, in accordance with regulatory compliance and best practices. Engages in designated committees to facilitate the development of a comprehension of and address the technological requirements of both business and clinical settings. Collaborates with organizational project teams to guarantee that the development and implementation of the system are in accordance with the most effective departmental practices and workflow efficiency.
- By working directly with departments within the organization to understand business processes, analyze current operational procedures, identify and resolve issues, and learn specific system requirements and specifications, the analyst analyzes user requirements, procedures, system capabilities, and issues to automate processing or improve existing system flow.
- Works in conjunction with IT support to deliver exceptional customer service to all business segments.
- Confirms that the functionality of new or revised software generates the desired outcomes by conducting tests and piloting with end-users, which may involve the development or revision of test protocols.
- Facilitates the implementation, development, and delivery process by collaborating with external vendors.
- Maintains a comprehensive comprehension of the integration and interaction of all supported systems, while also demonstrating a high level of technical proficiency in the systems assigned to the customer. Enhances work processes by implementing conventional methodologies for clinical and business applications. Has a comprehension of technological trends and applies this knowledge to provide solutions to the business unit(s) it supports, thereby enhancing the enterprise’s competitive advantage.
- Contributes to the organization’s implementation of new and updated technology initiatives.
- Contributes to the problem management process by reporting defects and problems, performing basic diagnostics to either resolve them or obtain diagnostics to aid in the investigation and resolution of problems.
- Evaluates the capabilities and workflow of the computer system to ascertain whether the requested application or modification is feasible within the existing system.
- Converts high-level business requirements into functional specifications and informs the IT organization of the business’s direction. Assists in the redesign and documentation of business processes in order to accommodate new technology. Creates educational and instructional materials, including workflow and program flowcharts and system documentation, to capture business processes and system information.
