Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize advanced SQL queries and procedures to facilitate complex data retrieval, analysis, and manipulation.
- Design and maintain data models that accurately reflect business and system requirements, ensuring optimal performance.
- Evaluate existing database structures and implement enhancements to improve database integrity, performance, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement and maintain data warehousing solutions, utilizing cloud-based technologies such as Redshift and S3 when applicable.
- Integrate SQL databases with various data sources and applications, considering the use of Kafka streaming, Glue, and Lambda for data processing and workflow automation.
- Employ reporting tools like PowerBI, Cognos, or Tableau to develop dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to business users.
- Document all aspects of database design, development processes, and data flow within the system.
- Maintain an understanding of the latest trends in SQL development, data modeling, and cloud technologies to suggest and implement best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in SQL development and data modeling, with a strong portfolio demonstrating past work and successes.
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts, data warehousing principles, and ETL processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and deliver projects on schedule.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including Quicksight, Redshift, S3, RDS, Kafka streaming, Glue, and Lambda.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing reporting solutions using PowerBI, Cognos, or Tableau.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems.
